TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS COUNSELLING FOR INDIVIDUALS & COUPLES

What it is - Transactional Analysis (TA) is the study of communication patterns. When we understand how these aspects of our personality work, we can look at how we communicate with others and understand why often emotionally charged conversations can feel unresolved.
How it works – TA counselling works by exploring historical events and understanding them in terms of communication and learned ways of coping which impact how we feel. These coping mechanisms then inform the decisions we make in adulthood. This can include the relationships you chose to pursue to the decisions you make about how your life will turn out.
Aim of therapy - Understanding these patterns can help you resolve recurring arguments and situations with others and give you a proactive tool for realising your needs. It is excellent for couples experiencing enduring problems in their relationships by exploring unhelpful patterns of communication. It is also very useful for individuals having difficulties expressing their needs and asserting themselves leading to positive change.
